The Taqwacores is a fictional novel of a "taqwacore" movement, core as a suffix from the punk style of "hardcore" and "taqwa", from Arabic, meaning "piety". It's this portmanteau of words that best describes the book as a whole. It follows the journey of Yusuf, an American-Pakistani who moves into a house in Buffalo, New York.
